Arrest made in burglary, theft of property case

     Michael Pierce of Mountain Home has been arrested and charged with breaking into a home and taking property from the residence, according to a report from the Mountain Home Police Department.
     On Thursday, an off-duty Mountain Home police officer made note of a vehicle and the occupants cruising through his neighborhood on Ascension Drive. During the early evening hours, a resident returned to his residence to find that it had been broken into and property was missing.
     The victim and off-duty officer located the vehicle the officer had seen in the neighborhood earlier and made contact with the female driver and developed the 24-year-old Pierce as a suspect. Police then located and arrested him in Marion County with assistance from Baxter County deputies.
     Stolen property has been located by at a local motel and the investigation is continuing. Pierce was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center. His bond is set at $10,000.
