A morning reception was held last weekend for Sergeant Karl Carmen at the American Legion on Market Street.

Sergeant Carmen was home on a brief leave of absents from his duties in and around Baghdad while serving with the United States Army, based out of Fort Hood, Texas. He was welcomed by Commander Lyle Royer of the American Legion and Larry Seuling of the Mountain Home Elks Lodge #1714. Carmen was the recipient of one of the over 1400 boxes that have been sent to our troops by the Legion and the Elks over the past 5 years.

Sergeant Carmen addressed the group in attendance and telling them how much it meant to those that are fortunate to receive a package from home. "It was just like Christmas" was the general comments made by Sgt. Carmen and the others in his group that received the approximate 40 lb boxes that day!!

Thank you Sgt. Carmen and to all of our troops for their service to our country!
