Through a series of real miracles, Good Samaritan Society Chaplain Jerry Strobel recently went on a mission trip to Ecuador. Under the direction of Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse Jerry went with a special Operation Christmas Child team to deliver shoe boxes packed with “goodies” for the poorest of children in that nation.
One of Jerry’s volunteer activities is that of Area Coordinator for Operation Christmas Child, a program in which local businesses, schools, civic organizations, churches and individuals pack decorative shoe boxes with toiletries, toys, candy and school supplies.
Jerry described the trip as “life changing”. He stated, “There are no words that can adequately express the wide array of emotions one goes through in situations like those we experienced. As the teams gathered each evening for debriefings tears were the most common denominator of expression.”
According to Jerry we just don’t know how blessed we are to live in a country like ours until we see the other side.
Jerry’s trip will be the subject of interviews and articles in the near future.
