The Computer Information Systems department at ASUMH prepares students for good jobs, advanced college degrees and the 21st century.
ASU-Mountain Home offers the Cisco Networking Academy as a stand-alone program for individuals interested in learning networking skills and preparing for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam. The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum covers a broad range of topics, from basic networking skills such as pulling cable to more complex concepts such as applying advanced troubleshooting tools, while working with Cisco's state-of-the-art networking equipment. The program can also serve as the cornerstone of a two-year degree in networking.
In addition, ASUMH also offers the A+ certification program that is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. The A+ certification confirms a technician's ability to perform computer tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance, and security.
The demand for skilled network and computer support professionals continues to grow. Obtaining an industry certification is a valuable credential to help start or enhance a career in the IT field. By incorporating a Computer Information Systems degree along with an industry certification, students can increase their employment potential.
