A husband and wife, Jerry and Rebecca Brown of Mountain Home, both pled guilty to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Jerry Brown was sentenced to 10 years probation for his part in the criminal activity. Rebecca Brown will be formally sentenced on August 25th.

Circuit Judge John Putman was told that 48-year-old Jerry Brown was “lesser involved” in the crimes than was his wife.

In the probable cause affidavit filed in the criminal cases, investigators detail a number of drug buys made by a person working with law enforcement, generally naming the 47-year-old Rebecca Brown as the person arranging the sales. The sales took place at a storage complex across from a Mountain Home elementary School, a fast food restaurant parking lot and at the Brown residence on Rossi Road.

A search warrant was obtained and served at the Brown residence in mid-August last year. Officers discovered more than a pound of marijuana, approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, 1,000 unused baggies, four loaded weapons – one of which was reported stolen — digital scales, glass smoking pipes and almost $2,400 in cash.

The investigation into the Browns’ activities was done by the Mountain Home Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the Arkansas State Police and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
