Pot poll reveals most respondents don't the facts

     The Baxter County Sheriff's Office recently conducted a survey via their web-page in which they asked, what percentage of people in Arkansas' prisons are there because of being convicted of marijuana?
     Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says this isn't the first time they've conducted a survey.

     The poll gave nine different options ranging from 50 percent in prison to less than one percent in prison. There were 2,039 respondents to the poll and more than 25 percent of those people believed more than 50 percent of Arkansas' prison population was made up of marijuana convictions. When in fact, less than one tenth of one percent are in prison for marijuana convictions.

     Arktimes reports that forty-eight percent of Arkansas' prisons consist of probation and parole violators. Their report also says Arkansas' probation and parole officers average 129 cases per caseworker.
