Filings for municipal positions in the November General Election accelerated Tuesday in Baxter County as the Friday noon deadline to file draws near.
Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese reported nine filings including two Norfork City Council incumbents; Nina Brewer who filed for her Ward 2 Position 2 seat and Lisa Harrison who file for the Ward 2 Position 1 seat she holds. Jim Pilcher filed for the Ward 2 Position 2 seat on the Cotter City Council, Bill Base filed for the Ward 1 Position 1 seat on the Big Flat City Council and Bonnie Galvin filed for the Ward 1 Position 1 seat on the Lakeview City Council. There were four filings for Salesville’s city council including James Whitehead for the Ward 3 Position 1 seat, Jared Sorters for the Ward 2 Position 1 seat, John Brister filed for Ward 3 Position 2 and Thomas Bensman filed for the Ward 1 Position 1 seat.
The office of the Marion County Clerk reported one filing as Alan Graley filed for the Ward 1 Position 1 seat on the Bull Shoals City Council.
