An Izard County man was captured Thursday after running from law enforcement for several days. According to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence, deputies arrested 26-year-old Chance Lee McCurley of Melbourne without incident at a residence in Boswell.
McCurley was sentenced to five years of probation and fined after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor during a July session in Izard County Circuit Court. Within approximately a day of his plea, McCurley allegedly violated the terms of his probation numerous times. He also faces additional charges of being a felon in possession of a hand gun and a sawed-off shot gun.
Sheriff Lawrence says McCurley is in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting a probation revocation hearing and a probable prison term.
