An Izard County woman was arrested last week on accusations of identity theft. Sheriff Tate Lawrence says 55-year-old Genena Snyder, also known as Genena Johnson and Genena Adams, of Oxford is in the Izard County Detention Facility in connection with identity fraud, fraudulent use of a credit card and forgery.

Synder is alleged to have obtained a credit card in another person’s name, charging heavily on the account and attempting to pay the charges using the bank account of another victim. Sheriff Lawrence says she used the credit card to charge more than $23,000 to the first victim’s account.

Snyder is being held on three Class C felonies with bond set at $30,000. Her circuit court date is scheduled for September 19th.
