The continuing series “Getting to Know Your National Parks,” presented by the Buffalo National River Partners and Boone County Library, will feature Park Ranger Joyce Umbach on Capulin Volcano National Monument Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Boone County Library. These lectures are free and open to the public.

Umbach, a park ranger at Capulin Volcano National Monument for 6 and a half years, describes the monument as a small gem of the National Park System. She will provide a tour through history and geology of this extinct volcano located in northeastern New Mexico.

For the past seven years, Umbach has been the District Interpreter at Tyler Bend. The Buffalo National River is the tenth park of her career with the National Park Service.
