U.S. Senator John Boozman will be in Mountain Home for two events on Thursday.

Sen. Boozman will begin his day at KTLO at 10. At 1, he will be the keynote speaker for the Grand Opening of the new Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic. Later in the day, he will tour Serenity, Inc., a facility that provides emergency shelter and advocacy services to women and children living in violent homes.

The new Mountain Home VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic will provide primary care services for veterans in northwest Arkansas. Senator Boozman will deliver the keynote address as part of the Grand Opening. A ribbon cutting and tour of the facility is planned.

Boozman will also tour Serenity, Inc. and meet with Executive Director Niki de Soto to discuss the work the organization does on behalf of women and children who face domestic violence. Along with providing temporary shelter to victims, Serenity’s employees and volunteers offer a number of programs to assist and advocate for domestic violence victims in Baxter and Marion counties.
