In high school softball Thursday, Bakersfield got their season started with a win over county rival Gainesville. The Lady Lions won 13-5 over the Lady Bulldogs.
Dora suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Ava 3-1. The Lady Falcons are 2-1 on the season.
