During last week’s session of the Marion County Quorum Court, it was announced the Marion County Quarry will receive new equipment. The court approved to provide $166,000 for the purchase of a new haul truck, but for some justices of the peace, the vote came with a little concern.

J.P. Mike Scrima told KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News the main thing he and other quorum court members were worried about was having the money for the purchase, but no one argued the truck was needed.

The money will come out of the road department fund, but according to Judge Terry Ott, Marion County will be reimbursed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). According to Scrima, the question some had was whether the money would arrive in a timely manner since FEMA is currently dealing with natural disasters in other portions of the United States.

Despite the concerns, the vote to approve the purchase was unanimous.
