FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ Austin Allen has looked the part of starting

quarterback throughout the preseason.

The junior will have his first chance to show exactly how ready he is when he

makes his first start for the Razorbacks when they host Louisiana Tech on

Saturday

After three years on the sidelines, coach Bret Bielema named Allen the starter

during the spring _ selecting the 6-foot-1, 209-pound junior to succeed his

older brother, Brandon, under center.

The younger Allen has lived up to his new position throughout the preseason,

completing more than 70 percent of his passes without throwing an interception

in a pair of scrimmages.

He’ll have a difficult first test on Saturday against the Bulldogs, who were

9-4 last season.
