CMAThe new single, “Forever Country,” was set in motion by the CMA to celebrate 50 years of its iconic awards show. Only in country music, maintains Carrie Underwood, could you manage to take 30 celebrated artists and have them collaborate on a mashup of three of the biggest songs of all time.

“The CMA Awards…it’s just a celebration of great music, great artists, great talent, great songs,” Carrie reflects. “And fifty years of that kind of all being squished together for this incredible project…and everybody just being so willing to jump in and be a part of it. We have legends all the way to new artists and everything in between. I just don’t think you’d really see that in other genres of music,” she brags.

Carrie’s CMA Awards co-host, Brad Paisley, admits he was a little overcome to get to sing part of a song that means so much to him personally.

“I think we’re all humbled by…the material we’re getting to perform together for the first time…They’re classics,” Brad says. “I for one as a West Virginian singing ‘Country Roads’… it’s a very spine-tingling thing for me,” he confesses.

In addition to John Denver’s classic tune, Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” complete the new mashup. You’ll be able to see the epic music video that accompanies the new single on Tuesday.

The 50th Annual CMA Awards air November 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, with Carrie and Brad at the helm.
