LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Democratic challenger Conner Eldridge has launched the first television ads of his uphill fight to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. John Boozman in Arkansas, with a pair of spots that accuse the incumbent lawmaker of having a lackluster record in Washington.

Eldridge’s campaign said it’s airing the 30-second spots in the Little Rock and northwest Arkansas areas, but declined to say how much the total ad buy is. Documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission show Eldridges’s campaign has bought at least $33,000 worth of airtime to run the spots starting Friday.

Boozman’s campaign last week announced it was spending more than $300,000 to air the first TV ads of his general election campaign. Eldridge is a former federal prosecutor. Boozman was first elected to the Senate in 2010.
