DANVILLE, Ark. (AP) – Authorities in western Arkansas are investigating after a husband and wife were found dead in their vacation cabin in Yell County.

Sheriff Bill Gilkey says family members found the couple over the weekend in the bedroom of their cabin in the Carter Cove community near Lake Nimrod. Yell County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy John Foster says investigators believe the couple died from gunshot wounds and that the case is an apparent murder-suicide.

Foster says the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory will conduct autopsies on the couple, and their names have not yet been released. He says authorities are not searching for any other suspects in the case.
