iStock/Thinkstock(CINCINNATI) — As reports of recent clown attacks continue to cause nightmares this month, people can rest easy about at least one clown in Ohio.

Alexsandra Conley, an 18-year-old from Hamilton, Ohio, told police Saturday morning that a clown jumped over a fence, waved a knife and cut her thumb, according to ABC News affiliate WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.

After police investigated her story and found inconsistencies, by Sunday she later admitted that she had made up the story because she was running late to her job at McDonald’s, and didn’t want to be fired, WCPO-TV reports.

Police said the teen described her attacker as a male wearing a red wig and clown costume, with white facial makeup and a teardrop under his left eye, according to WCPO-TV.

While Conley was being examined by medics, police said according to WCPO-TV that she was calm and checking Facebook on her phone.

According to police, the teen was charged with one count of making false alarms.
