Arkansas State Police say a police officer was struck and injured during a traffic stop in eastern Arkansas.
State police say Sgt. Seneca Thornton had stopped a vehicle on U.S. 79 near Humphrey on Monday morning when he was struck by another vehicle driving south.
State police say Thornton is a police officer with the Stuttgart Police Department but was working part-time for the city of Humphrey at the time of the crash.
Both Thornton and the driver of the vehicle that struck him were injured and were taken to hospitals. A state police investigation is underway.
