Saint Louis University says its mascot will undergo another redesign after the version that was recently unveiled was met with a less than enthusiastic response from students and alumni.
Some people felt the Billiken mascot had transitioned from lovable and happy to creepy. It was the first new mascot for the school in 20 years.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that university president Fred Pestello on Tuesday posted a video on Twitter announcing that the mascot would have another makeover.
The revisions to the design haven’t been determined yet, but Pestello says officials got a sense of what fans like and don’t like.
