iStock/Thinkstock(ASTORIA, Ore.) — A surfer was injured at a popular beach in Oregon when he was bitten by a shark Monday afternoon, officials said.
The victim, whom officials identified as Joseph Tanner, 29, was surfing near Indian Beach in Ecola State Park around 4 p.m. when he was bitten, according to preliminary information.
He suffered bites on his upper thigh and lower leg and was hospitalized.
No further information was immediately available.
