One of the two people found dead in a burned home in Texarkana, Arkansas, has been identified.
Fire Marshal Stephen Johnson told the Texarkana Gazette that family members identified the man as Winston Whitfield II. His age and a suspected cause of death were not released.
Johnson said the cause of the fire has not been determined.
Firefighters were called about 8:15 p.m. Friday to the home that’s boarded up and was believed to be vacant. Investigators say there are no utilities connected to the home.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and one victim was found as the fire was being put out while the second was found a few minutes later.
