Two central Arkansas police departments investigating three fatal shootings by officers this month have kept quiet some information, including one officer’s name and the type of weapon carried by the man shot in another case.

On Tuesday, Little Rock officer Dennis Hutchins fatally shot Roy Richards. Police say Richards pointed a “long gun” at another man and Hutchins feared the man would be shot, but haven’t released the type of gun Richards carried.

A Benton officer fatally shot Thomas Burns on Oct. 7 when Burns threatened the officer with a handgun. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports police declined to identify the officer after saying say the officer’s life was threatened.

And Benton officer Kyle Ellison fatally shot Keagan Schweikle on Oct. 17 after police say the 17-year-old pointed a gun at officers.
