Miranda Lambert Speaks Out Against the Negativity on Social Media

ABC/Image Group LA Just like a lot of the rest of us, Miranda Lambert has had it with all the negativity on social media.

While the “Vice” hitmaker posts far less than most of her contemporaries, she did take the time to share a photo of herself “all dolled up and ‘out on the town’” with boyfriend Anderson East for Wednesday night’s CMA Awards. When she returned on Friday to share a favorite snapshot taken on a trail ride with her beloved Gypsy Vanner horse, Leiani, she saw that things had taken an ugly turn.

“Just now when I looked I realized so many comments were judgmental and negative,” the ACM Female Vocalist of the Year said, outspokenly adding, “Cowardly people hiding behind a keyboard or a cell phone writing their useless comments about our eyes and clothes and body language.”

Miranda went on to bring it back to the happy picture with her horse, who’s likely the inspiration for the name of her new label, Vanner Records.

“Thank ya’ll for reminding me why I read books, write songs, and spend most of my time with animals and people I trust and love,” she said, going on to close with a quote from Maya Angelou:  ““Words are things. You must be careful, careful about calling people out of their names, using racial pejoratives and sexual pejoratives and all that ignorance. Don’t do that.”
