Cam Confesses She'll Be Like a Kid at the Circus at Sunday's AMAs

ABC/Image Group LAAt Sunday’s 2016 American Music Awards, Cam competes for Favorite Female Country artist, alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Carrie Underwood. While she’s not set to perform, the California native is still plenty hyped about her first trip down the AMA red carpet.

“I definitely will be wearing a yellow dress,” she says, invoking her signature color as she considers how she’ll wear her hair. “I think I’m gonna wear it down, I’m not totally sure yet. This is my first time going to those, so I don’t really know what to expect. I feel like there’s just gonna be so many people that I’ll be excited to see, so I’m gonna bring my popcorn!” she laughs.

As for whether she plans to reach out to the many non-country stars she’ll have the chance to encounter, the “Burning House” singer is not so sure.

“I feel like all the people that I’m so impressed with, like Beyonce and stuff, I’d be too terrified to speak to them,” Cam confesses, “because also I feel like you’d be bothering them, which is probably how everybody feels. I’m just so excited just to be there and to witness the awards show kind of circus that it is, where there’s just so many people in one room that make so much great art. So, it’ll be fun!”

You can tune in to see if Cam takes home the trophy Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET, as the 2016 AMAs air live from Los Angeles on ABC.
