ABC/Image Group LA Kelsea Ballerini‘s family Thanksgiving celebration will just have to wait a day this year, since the breakout star has some other, rather high-profile plans on turkey day.
“I’m doing the Macy’s parade on Thanksgiving,” she says, “so I’m actually staying up in New York for the first time ever and doing Thanksgiving, just up there. And then the next day, doing the day after with my mom and all my family.”
The self-proclaimed girly-girl admits she’s making it a point to get out of the Big Apple before the Black Friday sales start.
“I fly out very early the next day, because I’m very scared of Black Friday in New York! Not of other people, of myself! I’m scared of myself!” she laughs.
Catch Kelsea on The 90th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, as it kicks off at 9 a.m. all across the country on NBC. If you miss the first showing, the three-hour holiday tradition re-airs later in the day at 2 p.m.
