(AP) – Authorities say a juvenile was killed after the
all-terrain vehicle on which she was riding was struck by a pickup on a western
Arkansas highway.
Arkansas State Police say the collision happened Saturday afternoon on U.S. 64
in Clarksville. According to a preliminary report, the girl was a passenger on
an ATV that pulled out of a parking and into the path of a truck driving east on
the highway.
State police say the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the
ATV, who is also a juvenile, was injured and taken to Arkansas Children's
Hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
