Florida Georgia Line Recalls Their Elementary School Memories of Tim McGraw

ABC/Image Group LAFlorida Georgia Line celebrates the twelfth number-one of their career this week with “May We All,” and what’s even sweeter is they get to do it with one of the men who helped pave the way for their success.

“Honestly, Tim McGraw‘s been a huge hero of ours for a long, long time and a huge inspiration and a huge influence,” Tyler Hubbard says. “So for him to be featured on this third record is a super special thing for [Brian Kelley] and I both. We really are diggin’ our roots and we’re taking it back to our influences and for guys like Tim McGraw to be willing to sing with us is just a huge honor.”

In fact, Tyler says Tim’s musical imprint on Florida Georgia Line dates back to when they were just little boys.

“You know what? [Brian] always says he can remember the first time he heard ‘Don’t Take the Girl’ and I can remember driving to elementary school and watching my mom cry to that song,” Tyler recalls.

Coming on the heels of “H.O.L.Y.,” “May We All” is FGL’s second number-one from the Dig Your Roots album.
