(AP) – A North Little Rock man is charged with first-degree
murder charge in the death of his girlfriend, who was found beaten in the yard
of the couple's home.
Online court records show 41-year-old Parnell Robert May pleaded not guilty
Monday in Pulaski County District Court in connection with the death of
41-year-old Ann Marie Mireles.
May also denied killing Mireles to reporters as he was taken to a patrol car
after being arrested Sunday night.
He remains jailed on $1 million bond.
Mireles was pronounced dead at a hospital after she was found in the yard
Sunday morning.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that prosecutors say May knew the
location of a pipe believed to have been used to beat the woman and had pictures
of her body on his cellphone.
