(AP) – St. Louis police say they have identified a man killed during
a shooting that forced closure of a portion of a busy interstate highway.
Police say 28-year-old Jarrell Foster died after being shooting about 12:30
p.m. Monday on Interstate 55 in south St. Louis. Police initially closed all
southbound lanes, but they reopened within a couple of hours.
Witnesses told police that a pickup truck appeared to be trying to get away
from a car carrying two people. Police say the passenger in the car fired into
Foster’s pickup truck, which crashed. Foster was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was no immediate word Tuesday about any arrests.
The shooting happened less than a month after Patrick McVey was fatally shot
Nov. 9 on I-55.
