(AP) – The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate has been
found dead in his cell.
Capt. David Bufford told reporters that 53-year-old James Lee Flowers of Cabot
was pronounced dead after jailers found him unresponsive on the floor of his
cell about 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Bufford says the death appears to be a result of natural causes, but the body
was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.
Flowers had been in jail since Wednesday for an undisclosed probation
violation.
