Authorities in south Arkansas say a 14-year-old boy in Fouke has died after he was accidentally shot by a friend.

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office says a woman called 911 at about 11 p.m. Monday and said her child had accidentally shot his friend. The sheriff’s office says that the teenager, Destin Wallace, was taken in critical condition to a hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Authorities say Wallace was pronounced dead at the hospital Tuesday morning.

Investigators are still looking into the shooting but the sheriff’s office says the death has been classified as accidental.
