(AP) – Benton County officials have drafted a second set of

bid documents as they search for a contractor to repair the 109-year-old War

Eagle Bridge.

Documents will be sent to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department

for review before advertising for bids. Bids will be opened Feb. 9.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that officials chose not to

accept any of the first set of bids submitted in October.

The new documents require contractors to list their experience in

rehabilitation of bridges listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The schedule calls for the work to be completed by Sept. 30.
