Local fire departments have been busy in recent days fighting out of brush and grass fires that started from a controlled burn. Baxter County Office of Emergency Management Director Jim Sierzchula, who is also the Fire Chief of the Grover Township Fire Department, offers this reminder to local residents.

Although cooler temperatures and rain is in the forecast for the Twin Lakes Area, Sierzchula says that is not enough to decrease the fire danger as there is a great deal of dried vegetation remains that can easily ignite and become an out of control fire.
