The boys' game went down to the wire as the Bombers were edged out by the Eagles 52-49. Vilonia jumped out early by scoring the first ten points of the game, but Mountain Home followed up with the next 11 points as the teams swapped a few leads early on. The Eagles kept the advantage for much of the game although it never got higher than three possessions the rest of the way. The Bombers had opportunities in the final seconds to tie the game up in part due to Vilonia missing a few front ends of one-and-one at the free throw line, but Mountain Home was unable to capitalize in the end.
Garrett Dietsche led the Bombers with 24 points. For the Eagles, C.J. Williford scored 18 points off the bench, and Hayden Patterson added 13.
Mountain Home falls to 8-13 on the season and 4-4 in the 6A/5A-2. Vilonia improves to 12-8 and 5-3.

The Lady Bombers did not fare any better as they fell to the Lady Eagles 39-30. Vilonia freshman Paige Kelly dominated the first half on the low block as she would either get her baskets, draw fouls or both, and it contributed to the Lady Eagles taking a 15-point halftime lead into the locker room. The tables seemed to turn in the third quarter as Mountain Home eventually cut the margin to four. Vilonia was only able to sink one field goal in the second half, but the Lady Bombers struggled to shoot in final minutes as well. The Lady Eagles would rely on free throws to seal the win.
Mountain Home was led by Vinessa Daniel with 13 points. Kelly finished with 17 for Vilonia.
The Lady Bombers drop to 12-10 on the year and 5-3 in the district. The Lady Eagles are now 15-6 and 6-2.

Mountain Home steps out of district play Friday for a pair of neutral site games against Star City at the Anthony School in Little Rock.
