
High school basketball makes up the Thursday schedule as several local teams continue postseason play.
Two area girls’ teams will compete in the semifinals of the 2A-2 Conference Tournament at the Cotter Coliseum. The host Lady Warriors meet Marmaduke at 4:00, and Salem faces Sloan-Hendrix at 7:00 in a battle between Lady Greyhounds.
The semifinals of the 1A-2 North Conference Tournament will be held at the Bobby D. Hulse Gymnasium in Norfork. In the girls’ games, the top-seeded Lady Panthers tip off at 4:00 against Calico Rock, and Mammoth Spring takes on Izard County at 7:00. On the boys’ bracket, Norfork plays the number one seed from Izard County at 5:30, and Mammoth Spring will be paired with Calico Rock at 8:30.
The 3A-1 East Conference Tournament will hold its semifinal round at Mountain View. On the girls’ side, top-seeded Valley Springs gets underway at 4:00 against Clinton, and Bergman meets Mountain View at 7:00. In boys’ action, Yellville-Summit faces top-seeded Marshall at 5:30, and Valley Springs takes on Clinton at 8:30.
Two area teams will take part in the semifinals of the 1A-2 South Conference Tournament at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. The top-seeded girls’ squad from Rural Special will be matched up with Midland at 4:00, and Timbo’s boys play Concord at 7:45.
Lead Hill will host the semifinals of the 1A-1 Northwest Conference Tournament as both Tiger teams go up against Omaha. The girls’ game is scheduled for 7:00 followed by the boys’ contest at 8:30.
Elsewhere, Bakersfield travels to Koshkonong, the Gainesville girls host Conway, Lutie entertains Norwood, and Dora’s girls are home against Sparta.
