Two Little Rock police officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing in the August death of a man who died while in police custody.
According to Little Rock police, an autopsy found that 22-year-old Marcus Robert Doyle Sexton died Aug. 4 from methamphetamine intoxication. Police say Officers Eric Hollister and Stephen Lichti encountered Sexton when they were responding to a report of a man breaking into homes.
Police say Sexton tried to run away but officers pinned him to the ground and handcuffed him. Sexton stopped breathing and the officers performed CPR, but he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Prosecutors tell the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that a review determined that the officers' actions were justified.
