There was baseball and softball action Friday as the championship games of the 1A-2 North Conference Tournaments were played at Izard County High School in Brockwell.
Mammoth Spring captured the baseball title in a pitchers’ duel as they edged out Viola 1-0. The Bears improve to 19-5 on the season, and their next game will be Thursday when they meet Ridgefield Christian in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Armorel.
Viola was also defeated in the softball final. The Lady Longhorns fell to Calico Rock by a score of 2-0.
