
The Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) released its new classification numbers, and one local school will see a change when the cycle takes effect. Yellville-Summit will drop down from Class 3A to Class 2A beginning in August 2018.
Yellville-Summit will be the biggest Class 2A high school in the state of Arkansas, and Superintendent Wes Henderson says he’s looking forward to seeing the Panther teams compete in their new district and conference.

Flippin dropped from Class 3A to Class 2A last August, and Yellville-Summit wasn’t able to play the Bobcats as much for basketball. That will change with the new cycle, and Henderson says he’s looking forward to boosting the rivalry back up.

The change takes effect in the fall of 2018 and will continue through at least the spring of 2020.
