Thursday was marked as an Employee Appreciation Day for the Mountain Home School District. Nearly 250 people were in attendance for the Mountain Home Education Foundation’s Celebration of Excellence on the campus of Mountain Home High School.

One of the main highlights of the evening was the announcement of the Teaching Grant Awards. A total of nearly 30 grants were awarded throughout every school in the district. MHEF Executive Director Mollie Morgan says the grants are based on teachers’ ideas to engage students and improve the students’ outcome by the time they’re seniors.

The MHEF also announced the inaugural Bereada Gamill Bryant Family Teacher Scholarship going to Mountain Home High School Environmental and Spatial Technology Facilitator Jackie Meissner. Morgan says the award was created to help with a teacher’s post-graduate education by Ron and Helen Gamill donating to the family scholarship fund.
