A Horseshoe Bend man has been charged with rape following a call to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office reporting two young girls running down a county road wearing tee shirts and no pants.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports 34-year-old Jeremy Watkins is being held in the county detention center on a $50,000 cash bond.

According to a press release, when Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Foster responded to the call, he found the two girls in a field off of Day Road. One of the two girls is 15 years of age and alleges that she had been sexually assaulted. The age of the second girl has not been released. The girls were transported to White River Medical Center in Highland for examination.
