A Mountain Home man, 21-year-old Blaze Forrester, who was recently jailed on a felony battery charge against a relative, received another battery charge against a police officer for an alleged punching incident while in the Baxter County Jail. Forrester remains incarcerated in the Baxter County Jail on a $30,000 bond for the charges in addition to impairing the operations of a public facility.According to the arrest affidavit, in the initial battery case, the victim, Forrester’s grandfather, came to the Mountain Home Police Department complaining his grandson became upset when told to put his shirt on before going outside. He said Forrester began punching him in a matter that made the grandfather believe he wasn’t going to stop.

When questioned, Forrester allegedly admitted to becoming angry with his grandfather and struck him several times. He was then arrested and taken to jail without incident.

According to a recent incident report two days later, inmates were threatening to beat Forrester for spitting on the floor of the pod. As the jailer moved Forrester to another cell, the report says Forrester was caught on camera throwing his bedding down and hitting the officer in the back of the head.

The officer went to get a taser, and Forrester shut the jail cell door. When the officer opened the door, Forrester charged him at which point the taser was employed and Forrester surrendered. The surrender was short lived, however. Forrester pulled the lead wires off and began running to another room and shutting the door behind him. Five more officers came to the jailer’s assistance, and Forrester was subdued.

He is expected to answer to the charges later in Baxter County Circuit Court.
