Passing fraudulent prescriptions leads to arrest

The long arm of the law has caught up with a Fayetteville man, 32-year-old Jose Francisco Rodrigues, wanted locally since last December on a bench warrant related to drug offenses involving attempts to fill fraudulent prescriptions.

According to the arrest affidavit, in November 2016 Mountain Home Police officers were dispatched to a local pharmacy where Rodrigues and a second man were detained for a suspected attempt to pass a fraudulent prescription for oxycodone. Rodrigues claimed his only role in the scheme at two local pharmacies was as the driver of the vehicle.

The bench warrant for Rodrigues has been outstanding here since December. He was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on Wednesday after having been arrested in Washington County and returned here.

Rodrigues is charged with five felony counts for his alleged involvement in attempting to secure a controlled substance through fraudulent practices, with his bond set at $15,000.
