
After three decades of serving as a Ranger, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent for Arkansas State Parks, Twin Lakes Area resident Tracy King has been promoted to the Region Two Supervisor position. He will oversee 11 Arkansas State Parks in the north central region.Operations Manager Jon Brown says King was selected due to his numerous years in leadership as a Park Ranger at various locations within the State Park System. His latest appointment is Superintendent at Bull Shoals White River State Park.
King says the move is something he’s looked forward to.

King has been an Administrator since he moved to the area in 1989. He has a large amount of law enforcement training under his belt and management experience to bring to the table.

King says one of the highlights of his career is meeting the vast amounts of people who visit and pass down their love for the area from generation to generation. Another highlight is the hard work of the staff and volunteers including awards for Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners, Crooked Creek Volunteer Group and the Bull Shoals White River State Park volunteer group. They have won overall park of the year three times and region park of the year approximately six times in the last ten to twelve years.
In his parting King says he will come back.

Bull Shoals is one of the parks in his area and King says he’ll visit periodically to check on operations.
He says he’s very honored to have lived in the area saying, it’s the best place he’s ever lived.
