A local school district will begin searching for another coach. Flippin High School boys’ basketball coach Dion Hargrove is leaving the Bobcat program for the same position at Perryville in central Arkansas.
Hargrove has spent the last eight years at Flippin. He was at Viola for seven years winning two state titles with the baseball program and one with the boys’ basketball team. After his time with the Longhorns, he spent four years at schools in Missouri including West Plains, and that was followed by two years at Buffalo Island Central High School in Monette.
Hargrove says leaving Flippin was a tough decision after being welcomed by the community.

Hargrove’s departure is the second coaching change Flippin has experienced in the last few months. Grant Greenhaw was hired by the school board in April to be the Lady Bobcats’ basketball coach following the resignation of Jason Hughes.
