Airport in Flint, Michigan, evacuated after officer critically injured

iStock/Thinkstock(FLINT, Mich.) — The Bishop International Airport in Flint, Michigan, was being evacuated Wednesday morning after an airport police officer was injured, the airport said.

The officer is in critical condition, according to the Michigan State Police.

The airport said all passengers are safe.

The airport is closed and the FBI is leading the investigation, authorities said.

State police tweeted, “As we continue to monitor the situation at Bishop Airport, please remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to MSP or local police.”

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder wrote on Twitter, “As we wait to learn more about the incident at Bishop Airport, please keep the attacked officer in your thoughts & prayers.”
