Big Creek holds several tournaments over weekend

Big Creek Golf and Country Club had several tournaments this past weekend.

Andrew and Nicole Gillespie won the Big Creek Couples Event on Sunday with a three-under-par 69. The Gillespies took home $50 after beating runners-up Dale Cody and Christy Graham by five strokes. Randel and Sharon Butler ended up third.
On the net scores from the couples event, Mike and Becky Robbins took home the $50 first prize with a 65.4. Tom and Lori Frazier finished second, and Russ Ericksen and Barbara Stockwell were third.

The Senor Tequila Junior Golf Championship was a two-day event held Saturday and Sunday.
Hagen Sanchez had the top score on the boys’ side as he won the 14-to-16 age group with a 151. Devin Mishra took second place, and Aaron Thornsberry was third.
Preston Nesterenko took the boys’ 12-13 division with a 153. J.P. McCarron finished second, and Robbie Vaught ended up third.
Nathan Mishra captured the boys’ title among ten- and 11-year-olds. Mishra had a two-day total of 155.
The winner of the boys’ eight-and-nine age group was Rich Davis with a 168. Terrance Kempson was the runner-up, and Hudson Lindsey took third place.
Griffin Leach won the boys’ five-to-seven divison with a 167. Truett Lindsey was the second place finisher.
Emma Hester was the top female golfer as she won among 12-to-14-year-olds with a 166. Holly Heslep ended up in second place.
Alijah Griffith was the winner of the girls’ ten-and-11 age group with a 178. Brooklyn Worley took second, and Tori Worley was third.
Dakota Redman was the girls’ winner among eight-and-nine-year-olds with a two-day total of 170. Marria Ezzi finished second, and Anna Bela Gutierrez ended up third.

The Big Creek Ladies Golf Association Mini Tournament was held Saturday.
Janet Wood won the Championship Flight with an 86. Brenda White finished two strokes back, and Barbra Wood took third place.
Beverly Lewis captured the A Flight with a 94. Andrea Linck won the tiebreaker for second place over Nancy Brentlinger.
The B Flight was won by Judy Nosari with a 94. Sharon Butler was the second place finisher, and Susan Bergman ended up third.
Phyllis Bull took the C Flight with a 97. Sherryl Adams was second, and Susan Hollenbeck finihsed third.
The winners of each flight took home $15, and ten dollars went to the runners-up.
