(AP) – A jail inmate who escaped from a hospital has been arrested
at a mobile home park in suburban St. Louis.St. Louis County police say 36-year-old Bruce Brutsman was taken into custody
around noon Wednesday near Festus. He is accused of bolting Saturday morning
from a hospital where he was being treated after he allegedly swallowed a
battery. Police say he was wearing hospital scrubs when he got away from the
corrections officer assigned to monitor him.

A pizza delivery car was stolen about 1 1/2 hours later from outside an Imo’s
pizzeria. The vehicle was unoccupied when it was found near Interstate 70 and
the foot of a bridge to Illinois.
Brutsman had been jailed in St. Louis County on charges of burglary and other
property crimes.
