Several area fireworks planned

Independence Day celebrations and fireworks displays are planned all over the Twin Lakes Area this weekend beginning Saturday with a fireworks display at Pride Park in Bakersfield at dark.

Other displays Saturday will be in Theodosia and the day begins with a breakfast Saturday morning from 7:00 to 10:00 at Sampson Masonic Lodge next to the Lutie School. The day will end with a fireworks display at dark at the Theodosia Marina Resort campground on Bull Shoals Lake.

Squires will also hold festivities Saturday afternoon at 5:00 with music, children’s games and a fireworks show, sponsored by the Squire Volunteer Fire Department. In the event of rain the festival will move to July Fourth.

In Mountain View Saturday, at Jacks Resort, there will be free watermelon and the fireworks show starts at 10:00 that evening

Sunday, the Pontiac display will be held over Bull Shoals Lake, at the Pontiac Cove Marina and Campground, at dusk.

In Mountain View, the Flatwoods Baptist Church will have a Freedom Celebration with fireworks at 8:00 in the evening.

Monday, Independence Eve, the annual Lake Norfork Fireworks Association display will be held over Lake Norfork beginning at dark. Fireworks will be shot between the bridge on the lake and can easily be viewed from boat, car or on lake campsites. Music for the show can be heard by tuning into 99.7 The Boot.

Flippin’s annual fireworks show, presented by the Flippin Fire Department, will also be held Monday, at Hickey Park beginning at dusk. Prior to the fireworks, Shotgun Divorce will perform beginning at 7:00 in the evening.

Calico Rock will have a fireworks Independence Eve extravaganza as well. The annual show at Earl King Park begins at dark and is hosted by the Calico Rock Lions Club.

Also on Monday the town of Fifty Six will have a fireworks display that evening at the Fifty Six City Park.

The annual John G. Eastwold Memorial Fourth of July fireworks display, sponsored by Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock will beginning at dark. The fireworks may be viewed from the lake or at the parks and campsites near the dam.

Other fireworks on the evening of the Fourth include the Stone County Fairgrounds and Harrison’s Fire in the Sky presentation at 9:00.
