(AP) _ A 16-year-old boy has been ordered to stand trial as an adult in the beating death of a man in their hometown of Jefferson City, Missouri. The Jefferson City News Tribune reports that Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem on Thursday signed off on moving Zacchaeus Silva’s case to adult court.

Silva is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the April death of 63-year-old Jerry Robertson.

Authorities said an autopsy on Robertson found he had died from blunt trauma from what they suspect was a floor jack handle, much like a pipe.

A possible motive for the killing has not been released.

Online court records don’t show whether Silva has an attorney.
